The Magic Circle Young Magician of the Year 2007!
Winner
BEN HART, aged 16, comes from Winchester and has been praised for his innovation; his manipulation act combines modern Stage Magic with traditional techniques. He is a member of The Young Magicians' Club and became their Close Up Champion in 2005. He has received numerous awards for both his Close Up and Stage Magic in competitions open to all ages. Ben regularly performs at dinner parties, corporate events and public functions.
Runner Up
JOE RAY is 17 years old and comes from Shrewsbury. He is a third generation magician, taught by his grandfather — Geoff Ray. Joe has been performing magic since the age of eight. Joe performed at The Magic Circle's Centenary Celebrations and followed that with a performance at the SAM Convention in Louisville, Kentucky last year. Joe is the current holder of the IBM British Ring Manipulation Trophy and was also voted British Champion of Manipulation for 2007 at the Blackpool Magic Convention.
Third Prize
LEXI WATTERSON is 18 years old and lives on the Isle of Man. She has been studying magic for the last 4 years with the Young Magicians of Mann and has recently joined the International Brotherhood of Magicians. Lexi has set up her own private magic business catering for childrens' parties and has already given two royal performances. One was for HM The Queen when she visited the island and the other was for the Earl and Countess of Wessex in respect of Lexi's Duke of Edinburgh award. Lexi wishes to continue with her magic studies.
